Job Description

Engineering Project Manager

Description/Tasks

Coordination of all engineering activities on an Aircraft Completions project
Coordination of all engineering activities on an Arircraft Refurbishment project
In particular to monitor and supervise these activities in terms of workflow, schedule and cost and risk to improve communication between all completion project stakeholders (i.e. internal customers and suppliers, Core Team functions and Project Manager) during a completion project
management of cross-department subcontracting issues (e.g. Production, Engineering)
project monitoring to ensure timely corrective engineering actions
support decision making process
efficiency of inter-engineering departments activities
on-time delivery of engineering departments activities
Work as a dedicated Project Owner
Cover "cradle to grave" concept, form initial sales quote through to aircraft completion and delivery
To be responsible for Quality Cost and Delivery of each project within Company parameters set
Maximise benefits of Team Working through Continuous Improvement to simplify and process all value added work
To ensure compliance with Customer and Company requirements
Creation, monitoring and reportin all aspects of project status on a daily basis
To ensure proactive recognition and mitigation of risk to safety

Key activities:

Be focal point for project leader, manage all engineering-interfaces and represent project-specific engineering department interests towards general management, production, and central functions (e.g. Sales, Design, Financial Controlling, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management)
Manage the project activities which are performed by the involved engineering departments, monitor and supervise these activities in terms of workflow, schedule and cost
Optimize and strengthen collaboration between Engineering, SCM, and Production Project Managers, working to unblock tasks / issues which would disrupt the flow of work on the aircraft
Adjust and maintain Engineering Project Plan for assigned VIP Aircraft completion projects
Monitor and report Engineering budgetary aspects to project, reporting on Estimates at Complete, and carrying out Earned Value Analysis where appropriate
Actively participate in project progress meetings, Critical Path meetings and maintain the Critical Path for Engineering items
Organize and lead project engineering team meetings, record decisions and minutes, assign action items and track execution
Anticipate, analyze and report potential engineering project risks and countermeasures to project leader
Implement mitigation strategies when possible, and analyze and report effect on budget
Coordinate and communicate Engineering quotes for Sales projects
Track Additional Work Requests relating to Engineering, and understand and report impact on Cost, Quality and Delivery to schedule
Set, maintain and promote a professional and personal ownership of working standards and work place
To be a proactive, forward thinking and self-motivated team player
To proactively engage in Safety Management Systems
When workload dictates or requested by management, assist in other job roles that are identified as suitable to your skills and grade

Qualification/Experience

Industrial/Engineering environment - preferably aviation industry completion deep knowledge of the requirements in his/her field of experience). 8 years professional experience
Set-up, management, monitoring, controlling large projects of high complexity. Professional Qualification in Project Management advantageous
Activity monitoring, controlling, coordination, or follow-up within interdisciplinary and intercultural project stakeholders
Engineering Degree (mechanical, aeronautical construction or equivalent education in aircraft outfitting environment that enable you to control and coordinate all VIP aircraft completion project stakeholders
