Incident: Air Europa B738 at Paris on Dec 30th 2011, veered off taxiway while vacating runway
An Air Europa Boeing 737-800, registration EC-JHL performing flight UX-1009 from Valencia,SP (Spain) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) with 162 people on board, had landed safely on Charles de Gaulle's runway 26L and was turning off the runway via taxiway V3 around 21:00L (20:00Z), when the aircraft veered right off the taxiway before coming to a stop just past the Category I hold short line (and short of the low visibility hold short line) however still penetrating the runway protected zone. Responding emergency services needed three hours due to difficulties with the soft ground until mobile stairs enabled the passengers to disembark the aircraft.
A passenger said they felt the aircraft was being braked then felt the aircraft slipped. Later the crew announced tow trucks could not reach the aircraft over concerns they might get bogged down as well.
Emergency services said they needed to cover the soft ground with metal plates to get access to the aircraft.
