Si va verso una "Grande Coalizione" nel settore spaziale militare ...

Cita:
At the dawn of the new space age, the United States is racing to assemble a military coalition of spacefaring nations to rival that of Operation Enduring Freedom or the Western Bloc.
Its success could reshape yet another area of military power in America’s image, bringing the same security dynamics to the cosmos that have evolved for decades on Earth.
Countries have operated military satellites, radars, and other space-related weapon systems for years.
But with a Cold War redux underway, the United States says it needs to beef up its defenses on orbit to fend off Russian and Chinese aggression in the cosmos.
American officials argue it takes a multinational team to protect international space exploration and commerce - as well as GPS and other systems that enable terrestrial ops and modern civilian life.

A total of 10 Chinese military planes flew into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Monday (March 29), marking the 17th such incursion this month.
Four People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) Shenyang J-16 fighter planes, four Chengdu J-10 fighter jets, and one Shaanxi KJ-500 early warning and control aircraft entered the southwest corner of the ADIZ, according to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND).
In addition, a Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine warfare plane buzzed the southwest and southeast corners of the identification zone.
In response, Taiwan scrambled planes, issued radio warnings, and deployed air defense missile systems to track the PLAAF planes.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted an exercise near the island of Taiwan on Monday with the largest number of warplanes ever recorded, which could be a rehearsal of a reunification-by-force operation, again sending a clear warning to Taiwan secessionists and the US that have been making provocative moves to escalate tensions in the region, Chinese mainland experts said on Tuesday.
A US aircraft carrier exited the South China Sea via waters south of the island of Taiwan also on Monday, a region close to the PLA warplane exercise.
And analysts said the PLA displayed the capability of driving away foreign forces interfering in the Taiwan question.

The exercise conducted by the PLA served as a warning to Taiwan secessionists and the US after the two had made a series of provocative moves, mainland analysts said.

Il CNO dell'US Navy lancia l'allarme sull'espansione dell'influenza Cino-Russa ...

Cita:
Russia massing troops on the border of Ukraine and China continuing military overflights and maritime operations near Taiwan are in part a test of the resilience of the U.S.-led web of alliances, the chief of naval operations said on Wednesday.
Speaking to a group of NATO naval officers at a maritime warfare symposium, CNO Adm. Mike Gilday gave a loose outline of how China and Russia are expanding their influence.
“In the backdrop of all this complex and dynamic environment, eager competitors have signaled their desire to challenge the free and open international order. China and Russia are testing our cohesion, and they’re doing it in today, whether it’s along the Ukrainian-Russian border or in the Taiwan Strait. They’re operating in ways that deliberately undermine our transatlantic security,” he said.
Gilday’s comments come a day after the public release of the latest annual threat assessment from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (*) that said leaders in Beijing and Moscow are further pushing the limits of the current international order.

La Cina corre e potrebbe superare la Russia nello sviluppo di armi tecnologicamente avanzate ...

Cita:
China and Russia are the key adversaries when it comes to developing high-tech weaponry over the next 20 years, but while China’s rate of progress is accelerating, Russia is stymied by multiple factors, the defense Intelligence Agency told Congress.
DIA Director Lt. Gen. Scott D. Berrier said China will have “basically modernized” its military in just six years, and aims to be introducing the most “disruptive” military technologies by 2030-2035, according to prepared testimony for the Senate Armed Services Committee provided April 29.
During the next two decades, any of the three main powers - China, Russia, or the U.S. - may steal the lead “in one or more fields and seek to develop military capabilities and concepts to capitalize on perceived advantages,” Berrier said.
Any one of the three could come up with new weapons or concepts that “will change the character of warfare.”

Orgoglio taiwanese ...

Cita:
Amid escalating aggression from China in the region, Taiwanese Vice President Lai Ching-te emphasized on Sunday (April 25) that Taiwan is a sovereign state and that "the two [nations] are not affiliated with each other."
"Only [Taiwan’s] 23 million people can decide the future of the nation," Lai continued.
In his opening remarks at this year's "Global Taiwan National Affairs Symposium," Lai listed six principles the Taiwan government promises to its people: safeguarding sovereignty with no room for compromise; maintaining a free and democratic way of life with no infringement; honoring commitments to build a prosperous country that benefits everyone; guaranteeing the people the power to decide the future of the nation; being dedicated to stable and peaceful developments across the Taiwan Strait; and promoting peace in the Indo-Pacific region.

Long March 5B ... ovvero ... il più recente "regalo" della Cina al mondo ...
Il Pentagono afferma che non lo abbatterà ...

Cita:
Despite no one knowing where a spent, 10-story Chinese Long March 5B booster rocket will fall to Earth, the Pentagon has no plans to try to shoot it down, Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III said May 6.
“We’re hopeful that it will land in a place where it won’t harm anyone,” Austin said during his first press conference as Defense Secretary.
Although “we have the capability to do a lot of things, … we don’t have a plan to shoot it down, as we speak,” Austin added.
The fact that the exact time and place of the rocket’s return to Earth is unpredictable at this point, “speaks to the fact that, for those of us who operate in the space domain, there should be a requirement to operate in a safe and thoughtful mode,” Austin said.
The disposition of space junk should be taken “into consideration as we plan and conduct operations,” he added.

La Cina si da da fare ... in particolar modo nel settore aeronavale ...

Cita:
China is stepping up its aircraft carrier program on all fronts with the emergence of a stealth fighter mock-up at a naval test facility, suggesting that China intends to operate the type on its ships.
Meanwhile, the construction of China’s third aircraft carrier is making steady progress, while a state media news clip shows carrier-borne fighters have been based at a naval air base, which has been geolocated to a naval air base in Hainan Island bordering the South China Sea.
The latter will be one of the final pieces to the jigsaw for China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy, or PLAN, to base its second aircraft carrier, the Shandong, and its associated air wing at Hainan, the main base of its South Sea Fleet.
--- --- ---
A photo has recently emerged of the mock-up of what appears to be a stealthy fighter jet at China’s dedicated naval research and testing facility in Wuhan, Hubei province.
Though not confirmed, it would seem likely that the mockup is of the Shenyang FC-31.
The FC-31 was originally a privately funded venture by the Shenyang Aircraft Company and not driven by any military requirements.
It first flew in 2012 and was marketed for export, although without success.
However, rumors persisted that the type was subsequently selected for development into a carrier-borne fighter.
In 2016 a new, significantly altered airframe started flight trials.

A proposito della terza portaerei cinese attualmente in costruzione ...

Immagine

Cita:
Recent commercial satellite imagery reveals that China has made substantial progress in the construction of its third aircraft carrier, commonly known as the Type 003.
The vessel is slated to become the largest surface combatant in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) and significantly upgrade China’s naval capabilities.
Work on the Type 003 has been underway at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai since at least late 2018.
Over the last several months, prefabricated components of the vessel’s hull have been assembled.
Satellite imagery from May 30, 2021, shows that the flight deck is now partially complete.
While much remains to be done, close analysis of the Type 003’s status offers key insights about its configuration.
